Social Expression questions are in Section B of English exam Paper 1. There will be 3 questions, with 2 points for each question. Typically, this section shows up right after Section A, between questions number 21 and 25. In total, this section occupies 6 points in the whole test paper. Mastering this question section will make sure you don’t lose points!

In this section, students need to answer according to the dialogue/situation in the picture. Usually, the answer will be in the form of asking a question or giving a response. Students only need to provide a short answer.

Remember, the order of the dialogue in the picture starts from top to bottom, and from left to right. Oftentimes, the first dialogue bubble would be a question dialogue. Next, the second dialogue bubble follows which is the response dialogue. This can be helpful to help you identify if your answer should be a question dialogue or a response dialogue. If your answer should be a question dialogue, one tip would be to remember using the question mark (?) at the end of your sentence. You can score one point for not missing that out!

On top of that, make sure to check that your grammar and spelling are correct.
